President's Message

Dear Friends,

It is my distinct honor to serve you as this year’s President of the Metro New York Chapter of ICRI.  A wise past president of our chapter often said, “The Metro New York area contains more reinforced concrete and masonry structures than any other region in the US”.  If you are reading this letter, you probably make a living designing the repair, repairing, or manufacturing and distributing products for the repair of these structures.  If this is the case, smile, you have chosen the best place to apply your expertise.  On the other hand, if you are one of the many public agencies, building owners, or property managers who has the daunting task of overseeing and paying to maintain these structures, my apologies, you may not be smiling quite as much as others.  In either case, the fact we all must accept is the need to maintain, restore, and repair concrete and masonry structures is an inherent part of the region we live in and the career we have chosen.  To this end, joining the Metro New York Chapter of ICRI can help you to advance your career through increased knowledge, develop new contacts and relationships, and maintaining existing friendships within your chosen industry.

 

The mission of the International Concrete Repair Institute is to be a leading resource for education and information to improve the quality of repair, restoration, and protection of concrete and other structures.

 

In keeping with this mission, we have an exciting year of events planned that will focus on innovative technologies and methods to better protect our buildings and infrastructure.  Don’t panic! We also plan to have some fun along the way with social events and all technical meetings will start with a networking hour…a.k.a. cocktail hour.  So won’t you come join us to further your expertise, network with your industry peers, and possibly even have some fun along the way!

Our Board of Directors and various Committees are made up of a group of dedicated professionals that volunteer their valuable time.  We are always looking for motivated professionals who have a desire to get involved and make a positive contribution to our organization and industry.  If this describes you or someone you know, please contact myself or any of our Board Members and help make a difference.

As this years President, my goal is to help lead this chapter to a level of success commensurate with the greatest city in the world…with the most reinforced concrete and masonry structures….and I ask you to join me by becoming an active member.  Finally, I would like to thank our Membership, Sponsors, Board of Directors, Committee members, and all of you who join us in contributing to the success and growth of the Metro New York Chapter of ICRI and our industry.
